Marie Flowe-Dawson, a physical education teacher at Easley Elementary School, has received the 2008 Floyd Woody Award from the North Carolina Alliance for Athletics, Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (NCAAHPERD).  The award was presented at the group’s fall conference recently.

The Floyd Woody Award recognizes physical education teachers who demonstrating outstanding participation during the conference and exceptional leadership in physical education at their school and in their community.  Flowe-Dawson has been with Durham Public Schools for 21 years and has taught at Easley for eight years.  She is shown here being presented the award by Artie Kamiya, of NCAAHPERD.
