Tonya Price Mewborn, assistant principal of Hillside High School, has received the Jack McCall Award from the Leadership Program for Aspiring Principals (LPAP), a course of study offered by the Principals’ Executive Program (PEP).  The award honors hard work, commitment, contributions to others, high standards and life-long learning, and Mewborn was selected as the recipient by her classmates.

Major areas of study in the LPAP course include the new North Carolina standards for school executives, as well as school law, teacher improvement and retention, resource management, and communication.

PEP, an agency of the UNC Center for School Leadership Development of the University of North Carolina, has been North Carolina’s premier provider of professional learning for school administrators since 1984, and is the longest running program of its kind in the nation.
