Morehead Montessori School teacher Teresa Van Acker will present her dissertation pre-proposal research at the national American Montessori Society’s conference in New Orleans at the end of this month. The conference theme is Social Justice.

Van Acker’s is Teacher Identity and Mentorship: Conflict and Agency in Public Montessori Teaching.  It is a mixed-method study that includes journal entries and visual methaphors.

Van Acker is pursuing her doctorate in education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  Her major is Education Leadership and Cultural Studies.
